Our editorial rules exist to keep the site accurate and honest.
We cite official sources
Claims about law, regulation, credit reporting, and government programs link to primary sources: the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada, provincial consumer-protection regulators, federal legislation on the Justice Laws website, CMHC, the Bank of Canada, and OSFI. We do not cite competitors or commercial blogs as authorities.
We publish no fabrication
No fabricated reviews, ratings, testimonials, star ratings, author names, credentials, or contact details. No invented statistics or rate figures. If we cannot source a number, we say so and link the regulator instead.
Our byline
Content is attributed to the Editorial Team, not to a fictitious person. We do not publish invented author bios or credentials.
Review cycle
Pages carry a reviewed date. We re-check regulatory figures when we know a rule has changed, and correct errors on report.
Corrections
Report an error to hello@cosigners.ca with the page URL and the correct source. Substantive corrections are made promptly.
Independence
Advertising relationships do not determine what we write or how we rank partners.
